Recycle Week: Keeping Bollards and Materials in Use
This Recycle Week, TMP is joining the WRAP (The Waste and Resources Action Programme) and the British Plastics Federation in highlighting the importance of keeping valuable materials in circulation.
For us, that means offering products made from recycled materials and providing a responsible route for old bollards when they reach the end of their working life.
Bollards made from recycled materials
The TMP range includes several bollards manufactured from recycled materials.
- The Rom Bollard is made from recycled and recyclable plastic. Designed for car parks, pedestrian areas, schools and play areas, it is resistant to weather, moisture, oil, acid and seawater.
- The Berkeley Bollard is manufactured from 100% recycled rubber, moulded around a steel core. Its strong but yielding construction makes it suitable for car parks, schools, play areas and other public spaces.
Both demonstrate how recovered materials can be used to create practical products with a useful working life.
Recycling old traffic bollards
Our Bollard Recycling Service helps local authorities and contractors keep old or damaged traffic bollards out of landfill.
Bollards returned through the scheme are shredded into granules by our licensed recycling partner. The recovered material is then used to create new products.
TMP can arrange pallet collection or customers can return the bollards directly. Once processed, a certified Waste Transfer Note provides evidence that they have been recycled.
We can also accept some solar traffic bollards once their batteries have been removed. For every bollard recycled through the service, we plant a tree.
Have you got bollards ready for recycling?
