New Chair of BSI B/509/10 Subcommittee for Breakaway Safety

Ian Thomas, our Commercial Manager here at TMP Solutions, has been appointed as the new Chair of the BSI B/509/10 Subcommittee for Breakaway Safety.

The B/509/10 committee works and reports to BSI and is responsible for the UK’s input into the rewriting and updating of the Passive Safety (or crash friendly) standard EN12767. The committee comprises of representatives from Highways England, consultant engineers, manufacturers and independent test houses. All members of the committee have a genuine passion and interest for road signs and street lighting. The committee brings together many years of experience of developing, supplying and installing Passively Safe roadside equipment that have been proven to save lives when road traffic collisions (RTCs) happen.
