What a season for Wyrley Meerkats Girls Under 14s.

TMP has been proud to support the team this year, and it has been brilliant to follow their progress through a season full of hard work, commitment and plenty of determination.

The season came to an end on Saturday with a narrow 3-2 defeat after a dramatic last-minute penalty. Not the ending anyone wanted, but certainly one of those football moments that will be remembered for a while.

More importantly, Wyrley Meerkats finished 5th in their Premier League division, which is a fantastic achievement.

That result becomes even more impressive when you look at the challenges the team faced along the way. Despite having to reshuffle positions and deal with injuries throughout the season, they kept going, kept competing and kept showing what grassroots football is all about.

At TMP, we’re proud to support local sport and young people in the community. Grassroots football takes a huge amount of effort from players, coaches, parents, families and volunteers, and Wyrley Meerkats are a great example of the difference that commitment can make.

We’d also like to say a big thank you to Tash, who has made the difficult decision to step down as manager after eight years with the team.

That kind of dedication is something special. Managing a team for that length of time takes patience, energy and a real love for the players and the game. The highs, the lows, the muddy boots, the close games, the tough decisions and the brilliant memories all become part of the story.

Tash should be incredibly proud of the impact she has had on the team and the memories she has helped create.

Well done to all the players, coaches, parents and supporters involved. You should all be proud of what you have achieved this season.
